Mike serves as Foundry’s Foreign Rights Director and has worked on the international side of book publishing since 2003. He began his career at Penguin Books USA, where he sold foreign rights for a wide range of fiction and nonfiction published by Viking, Riverhead and The Penguin Press, including many iconic and internationally bestselling authors such as Sue Monk Kidd, Geraldine Brooks, Chang-Rae Lee, Steven Johnson, Daniel Pink and Michael Pollan. After moving to The New Press, where he managed all subsidiary rights and permissions, Mike joined Maria B. Campbell Associates, Inc. in 2009 as a Senior Scout where he advised leading publishers from around the world about American and international books and built a global network of editors, publishers, agents and scouts. Mike is a veteran of the Frankfurt Book Fair and London Book Fair, has appeared on panels at BookExpo America and attended the inaugural Beijing Publishing Fellowship. Originally from Sleepy Hollow, NY, Mike studied writing, literature and film at SUNY Albany.
