Roger Freet

Roger represents a wide variety of narrative and idea-driven nonfiction clients in the areas of religion, spirituality, memoir, and cultural issues by leading scholars, pastors, historians, activists and musicians. A seasoned content creator and project manager, he delights in partnering with clients to develop and expand their mission and message in order to reach the widest possible audience.
 
Prior to becoming an agent, Roger worked as an Executive Editor at HarperOne, an imprint of HarperCollins Publishers where he published New York Times and national bestselling authors James Martin, Paul Stanley, Bart Ehrman, Adam Hamilton, Diana Butler Bass, Stephen Prothero, Bruce Cockburn, and Stephen Meyer. His clients and authors have enjoyed extensive national coverage including The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, The Colbert Report, New York Times Book Review “Editor’s Choice”, NPR’s Fresh Air with Terry Gross, Time, Rolling Stone, The Atlantic, Slate, The Wall Street Journal, and other top media outlets. In advance of joining the editorial team at Harper, Roger was the Associate Director of Marketing and Publicity where he ran bestselling campaigns across the full spectrum of the HarperOne list.
 
Roger holds a Masters of Divinity degree from Princeton Theological Seminary, a Business/Economics degree from Westmont College, and is a graduate of the Stanford University Professional Publishing Course. He began his publishing career as an envelope-stuffing intern in the publicity department at Princeton University Press. As a long-time rock and jazz drummer, Roger looks forward to the day when one of his celebrity musician clients invites him to sit-in with the band, live and on stage.
